Angelica

An anti-inflammatory herb that can decrease contraction in uterine muscles to relieve pain and cramping. Also has similar effects to serotonin to benefit mood.
Atractylodes Rhizome

Included to reduce stress, anxiety, and to aid in healthy sleep and recovery.
Bupleurum Root

Part of our Favorite Four herbs for PMS, this combo is known for its anti-depressive, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and pain relieving effects.
Cinnamon

Cinnamon effectively reduced pain compared to placebo in a study on severe menstrual pain. It also decreased the volume of menstrual blood and nausea during the period.
Corydalis

Corydalis is one of the most frequently used herbs in traditional formulas for menstrual relief. Its primary active ingredient has been shown to effectively reduce inflammatory pain.
Curcuma

Contains highly anti-inflammatory compound curcumin that helps reduce chronic pain and spasm.
Cyperus Rhizome

Another of our Favorite Four, included for it's antioxidant and free radical scavenging activity.
Fennel Seed

In several randomized, placebo controlled trials, fennel seed was found to be as effective as NSAIDs for treating menstrual pain — all without the potential side effects.
Frankincense & Myrrh

A traditional combination that's been demonstrated to be anti-inflammatory and relieve menstrual pain.
Ginger Root

Ginger was found not just to reduce the severity and duration of menstrual pain, but to improve PMS symptoms like headache, gastrointestinal disturbances, nausea, and aches and pains.
Licorice Root

Licorice has been shown to be an effective treatment for a wide range of symptoms including abdominal fullness, bloating, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, and loss of appetite.
Motherwort

Known for its antispasmodic and relaxing effect on the uterus, it also helps relax tension and irritability.
Peony

Chinese peony and tree peony root have been shown to have analgesic (pain killing), anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and immunomodulatory effects.
Poria

A super-fungi known for it's ability to improve digestion and address symptoms like bloating, nausea, heartburn, and cravings.
Skullcap

An anti-inflammatory herb that also is know to decrease pain and anxiety. Additionally, Chinese Skullcap is hepatoprotective and supports detox and healthy liver function.
Valerian

Known for its antispasmodic and relaxing effect on the uterus, it also helps relax tension and irritability.
